Middle School Housekeeping

Have you lost a shoe or two? How about a jacket, coat or a glove? Have you been wondering where your lunch box is? If so, please come check out the bin of Lost and Found items in the middle school.  Just a reminder, please put your student’s name on all snow clothing, athletic wear, and water bottles. This will help us return lost item in a more timely manner.

Our bin is full and we want to make sure everyone has a chance to claim any missing items. Tables will be out 3/22-23. Unclaimed items will be donated 3/24.

Before-School Information for Middle School Students

Per the student handbook, Middle School students arriving before 7:30 a.m. should enter through the main entrance and wait in the Main Lobby until the MS building is open. There is no supervision provided in the middle school until 7:30.

For safety reasons, we ask students to wait in the main building until 7:30 a.m., even if the door to the MS building is open. The only exceptions are for those meeting for Bible study before school or those who have a prearranged meeting with a teacher.

After School Care begins at 3:15 p.m. for grades 5-6  and is available until 5:30 p.m.

For information on the cost of After Care, please see page 7 of the Parent Student Handbook.

Grades 5 and 6 students who are on campus after 3:15 p.m. need to check in at Main Lobby front desk for After Care and stay in that area while they wait to be picked up.

A final reminder: any middle school students staying after school who are not in any after school rehearsals or sports are not allowed to be in the middle school building because no supervision is available there.

We are offering Open Gym before school from 7:30 – 7:50 a.m. M/T/W/F and  8:15 – 8:35 a.m. on Thursdays.

Scholastic Book Fair is March 21-23!

The Westminster Christian Scholastic Book Fair will be March 21-23! Your children will be given the opportunity to visit the Fair with their teachers and create a wish list and then they will have a second opportunity to visit and make any purchases. You can also visit the Fair with your child during the 30 minutes before or after school if you would like to shop as a family. Our Fair is also virtual, so you can check out what will be offered ahead of time and talk through choices with your child from home or even order from home. Simply follow this link to check it out.

This year we are once again offering the e-Wallet payment option. You set an amount your child can spend and the e-Wallet will work like a debit card, allowing your child to spend until the allotted amount is gone. Any money that is not used will never be pulled from your bank account. This is a great way to let your child shop without sending cash to school. Simply follow this link to sign up.

Thank you for your support through the Scholastic Book Fair each year. Our library is completely funded by your generosity through venues like this.

Last Call for Spring “1-2” Art Club!

This is the last call for your 1st or 2nd grader to join us for the Spring Art Club for grades 1 – 2. Mr. Ken Johanson will be leading this club. Ken has been leading art clubs, teaching, and substitute teaching for several years at Westminster. Students will meet in the elementary art classroom. Art Club will meet on 4 Wednesdays – March 15, 22 & April 5, 12  from 3 – 4 p.m. There are limited spots available. The first 20 students who register will be signed up to participate. There are only a few spots left! The elementary office will contact you to let you know if your student receives a spot in art club. Click here to find the registration form. There will be no paper registration sent home. We have transitioned the registration form to be online.

If you are interested in volunteering to help Mr. Johanson during Art Club he would love to have the extra hands. No art experience is needed.
